The Technical Manager

Hi, I am Ed Russell, a Technical Management Professional. The purpose of this website and its contents is to share insights that I’ve learned about Technology Management in the hopes of sparing others of some of the grief that I’ve suffered learning the hard way. More importantly, I’d like to cultivate a healthy dialog with you about the challenges we face in the fast-pace and ever-growing complexity of our profession.

I have worked and managed in IT, Software and Web Application Development, Telephony, Learning Technologies, and Manufacturing industries for more years than I care to state, but I strive to stay relevant through continuous self-improvement and learning.

I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Agile Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and Scrum Master Certified (SMC). I keep these certifications active and up-to-date and I take them very seriously when applying the knowledge, tools, techniques, and methodologies they provide in my work, but hopefully, not too seriously to provoke an air of superiority or arrogance.
